Infection Control

Winns has 20 years of experience in dealing with infection control. We adopt a systematic approach to ward and theatre cleaning and employ various high temperature steam and fogging techniques. Our practices assist in addressing the issue of MRSA in hospitals and clinics.

Winns takes the issue of Infection Control very seriously. We understand that the delivery of cleaning can have a negative impact on infection control if both basic and complex procedures, such as barrier and terminal cleans, movement of equipment and patients between wards, are not followed correctly.

Winns Services is therefore committed to providing dedicated training to promote good principles and reduce hospital acquired infections. This dedicated training is supplied to all of our operatives upon induction and 6 monthly refresher courses are provided thereafter.

Our Infection Control Training is directed by the guidance contained in The Revised Healthcare Cleaning Manual, June 2009 and incorporates the following areas:

Frequency of cleaning is guided by the guidelines contained in The National Specifications for Cleanliness in the NHS: A Framework for Setting and Measuring Performance outcomes, April 2007, PAS:5748:2011 and the directive of the Ward Managers.

Our comprehensive monitoring and auditing processes assist in promoting good infection control principles and reducing hospital acquired infections. Any concerns are immediately addressed and House Keepers/Ward Managers notified.
